Giving Children Hope
Coeur d'Alene Honda hosts an annual Chili Cook-Off and fundraiser every year to support Children's Village. Chili Cooks and Riding Clubs from all over the area attend. The 11th annual event was held Sunday September 23rd. Fifteen teams participated and the Chili was great!
This years entries for public sample were: Sweet Granny May & Uncle Truckers Gator Chokin - Big Dog Chili - Blissful Beans - Hangover - Pops & Nans Buffaclo Chili - Chuck Wagon - Hodge Podge - Bushwacker - 5 Bean - Staceys Buffalo Sweet chili - Tongue Teaser - Just Chili - The Bomb - Christy's Chicken Chili - High Country & Rumble.
Winners:
$250 First Place - John & Stacey Vahey with 5 Bean chili
$150 2nd Place - Richard Dean & Robert Aragon with Big Dog
$100 3rd Place - Troy Curtis with Sweet Granny May & Uncle Trucker's Gator Chokin Chili
Peoples Choice - 5 Bean Chili ...everyone liked the BBQ flavor!
The fundraiser was a donation drawing for a Honda Metropolitan Scooter. The September 2007 event raised over $6500 for Children's Village. 100% of proceeds gp to Children's Village. We hope to top that this year!!! This years winner of the scooter was Nancy Thompson. She works with children as a case worker - it couldn't have gone to a more deserving individual.

and Children's Village Benefit!
Coeur d'Alene Honda's Annual Chili Cook-off & Fundraiser benefits Children's Village Foundation, Inc. A non profit corporation supporting Children's Village, Inc. a residential program serving local children in need. Last year, Children's Village served an average of 20 children daily, from birth through 18, throughout the year. Their kitchen served over 23,800 meals and healthy snacks. They provided over 4,000 hours of individual and family counseling and 3,500 hours of independent living services and life skills education. Over 1,000 children have found a caring & safe home since it's inception.
